The Number One Way to Get Fired

Is not to do your job right all the time. When you wanted to be out of job right away, just don’t yield an output everyday – fastest way of doing it. 🙂

There are other ways of course and that will include

  • Being lazy all the time. Stare into space, sleep.
  • Complaining always. Complain about anything.
  • Stealing company’s time, technology, supplies. Do not bother yourself buying stuffs you can get from the office.
  • Abusing your co-employees or co-workers. Make them do your job.
  • Going on half-days, leaves, undertimes, and OBs when you are mostly needed.
  • Deliberately not following instructions (or commands).
  • Telling everybody (including the janitor) all the bad things about the boss.

This is an interpretation, what’s yours?

  1. Steal the heart of your boss’s hot secretary/mistress after he left his wife and family for her and gave up half of his income and property after the divorce settlement.

Conradict his ideas and opinions with some silly senseless rattlings during meetings or brainstorming sessions.

Do not shower for a week and then come in one day in a mismatched suit and start your day by spending a lot of time emotionally discussing the day’s business with the water dispenser alone in the break room.

This might even send you to the insane infirmary for a good “medicated” rest. And if you qualify? A disability paycheck twice as much as your monthly paycheck for as long as you can maintain your insane profile.

  2. I work in retail- so maybe here’s a sure way to get fired- be rude with customers and maybe get into a heated argument with them. =)

Believe you me, sometimes it’s tough resisting the urge to do just that when I encounter rude shoppers.

  5. Stealing from the company is one way to get fired instantly 😦

Bad behavior however takes a bit longer – a 3rd reprimand letter after 2 warning letters normally seals the deal for dismissal 😦
